Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies & Why We Use Them
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit our website or use our service. We also use similar tracking technologies such as web beacons, pixels, and local storage (collectively "cookies"). Cookies help us operate the platform (such as keeping you logged in), remember your preferences, understand how users interact with our service, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to work. Others are optional and require your consent where required by applicable law, including the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR. We provide controls to manage your cookie preferences.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies are necessary for core platform operation, including user authentication, session management, security features, and load balancing. The platform cannot function correctly without them and they cannot be disabled. Analytics Cookies help us understand how users access and use Cread — which pages are visited, how long users engage with features, and where errors occur. This data is aggregated and used to improve the product; we use tools such as Google Analytics for this purpose. Functional Cookies remember your preferences and settings, such as language selection and display choices, to provide a more personalized experience. Marketing & Advertising Cookies may track activity across sites to display relevant advertising and measure campaign effectiveness. These are only placed with your consent where required by applicable law.
3. Third-Party Cookies & Analytics
Third-party services integrated into Cread — including Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, payment processors, and authentication providers — may set their own cookies on your device. These cookies are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties, not by this Cookie Policy. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how users use the site, which we use to compile reports on website activity. Meta Pixel may track conversions and ad performance when you interact with Meta-integrated features. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage Meta's data use through your Meta account settings.
4. Cookie Consent (EU/UK & ePrivacy)
If you are located in the European Union, EEA, or United Kingdom, we are required under the ePrivacy Directive and applicable national laws to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. If you are located in Colombia, the use of tracking technologies that process personal data is subject to Ley 1581 de 2012 and Decree 1377 de 2013 — we will obtain your prior, express authorization before activating non-essential cookies that process your personal data. When you first visit Cread, you will be presented with a cookie consent notice allowing you to accept or reject different cookie categories. You may change your preferences at any time using the cookie settings link in our website footer. Essential cookies are always active and do not require consent. Withdrawing consent will not affect lawfulness of prior processing and will not prevent you from using core Cread features.
5. Your Cookie Choices & Opt-Out
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, and receive notifications when new cookies are set — visit your browser's help section for specific instructions. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using core Cread features such as logging in. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, use the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. To opt out of interest-based advertising more broadly, visit optout.networkadvertising.org. Opting out of analytics does not mean you will stop seeing ads — only that tracking will be limited.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites you visit. There is currently no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond to these signals. Our platform does not currently modify its behavior based on DNT signals. However, you can use the cookie preference controls described in this Policy to limit non-essential tracking at any time.
7. Updates & Contact
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable regulations. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via a banner on our website or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised. If you have questions about how we use cookies or tracking technologies, contact us at privacy@cread.app.
